FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany
Written by someone who is bored
FIFA World CupYep.... FIFA World Cup 2006 is about to start in a month or so in Germany. That means zero chess and a whole lot more tv for a couple of weeks. Drinking beer and eating fast food in front of the tv. Let us all indulge!

And in case you wonder what's it all about.... All these grown-ups try very hard to win  some kind of cup. Cup? It's solid, how can it be a cup??

Anyway, let's read some more on their site: The current FIFA World Cup™ Trophy cannot be won outright, as the regulations state that it shall remain FIFA's own possession. The World Cup™ winners retain it until the next tournament and are awarded a replica, gold-plated rather than solid gold.
The new trophy is 36 cm high, made of solid 18-carat gold and weighs 6175 grammes. The base contains two layers of semi-precious malachite while the bottom side of the Trophy bears the engraved year and name of each FIFA World Cup™ winner since 1974.

Well, that's very nice. I'm going to watch as many games as possible. Too bad about Cameroon; they were my favorites.
May Brazil win so we can all go on with our lives. In the meantime: enjoy the games or enjoy this joke page I found on the internet!
