 The annual Essent Chess Tournament takes place in the townhall of Hoogeveen from October 21-29. The participants in this year's Crown Group are Ivan Sokolov, Pentala Harikrishna, Emil Sutovsky and Women's World Champion Antoaneta Stefanova. There's also an Open with players such as Atalik, Brodsky, Nijboer, Rogers, Rozentalis, Van der Wiel and many others.
